ACCESSIBILITY POLICY FOR GRIMSBY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP LIMITED

INTENT

THIS POLICY IS INTENDED TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF ACCESSIBILITY STANDARDS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, ONTARIO REGULATION 429/07 UNDER THE ACCESSIBILITY FOR ONTARIANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT 2005. 

1.        OUR COMMITMENT

GRIMSBY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP LTD. IS COMMITTED TO AND STRIVES AT ALL TIMES TO GIVE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES THE SAME OPPORTUNITY TO ACCESS OUR GOODS AND SERVICES IN THE SAME MANNER AS ALL OF OUR CUSTOMERS. 

2.       THE PROVISION OF GOODS AND SERVICES TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Grimsby Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ltd. is committed to excellence in serving all customers in our place of business, including people with disabilities.  Grimsby Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ltd. will make every reasonable effort to ensure that its policies, practices and procedures are consistent with the principles of dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity by:

  •  Allowing customers with disabilities to do things in their own ways and at their own pace when accessing goods and services, provided that this does not present a safety risk;

3.        ASSISTIVE DEVICES

Persons with disabilities may use their own assistive devices as required when accessing good or services provided by Grimsby Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ltd. We will familiarize our staff with the various assistive devices that may be used and will make every practical effort to provide the requested device and/ or service. 

4.        GUIDE DOGS, SERVICE DOGS AND SERVICE ANIMALS

We are committed to welcoming a customer with a disability who is accompanied by a guide dog, service animal, or service dog.  Service animals are allowed access to all premises that are open to the public. 

5.        SUPPORT PERSONS

If a customer with a disability is accompanied by a support person, Grimsby Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ltd. is fully committed to ensure that both persons are allowed to enter the premises together and that the customer is not prevented from having access to the support person.  In situations where confidential information might be discussed, consent may be obtained from the customer prior to any conversation where confidential information might be discussed.

6.        TRAINING

Training will be provided to:

  • All employees who deal with the public or other third parties that act on behalf of Grimsby Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ltd., and
  • Those who are involved in the development and approval of customer service policies, practices, and procedures

7.        NOTICE OF TEMPORARY DISRUPTION

In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to the facilities or services usually used by people with disabilities, Grimsby Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ltd. is committed to provide participants with as much notice as possible and do our best to accommodate the customer at another time when facilities or services will be available again.  The notice will be posted and we will strive to provide timely communication so as not to inconvenience the customer further.

    8.  FEEDBACK PROCESS AND AVAILIBILITY OF DOCUMENTS

Grimsby Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ltd. shall notify customers that the documents related to the Accessibility Standard for Customer Service are available upon request ant in a format that takes into account the customer's disability.  Notification will be given by posting the information in a conspicuous place owned and operated by Grimsby Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ltd., the dealerships website, or other reasonable method.
